it's almost here. it's almost here. my best friend, karen...her birthday is almost here. wohoo. seems like yesterday...
i met karen when we started nursery school. we were classmates. i remember our classroom back then to be very small but it had a lot of toys. lol. our teacher was ma'am natividad. back then, we went to school in pattao. in nursery school, we were both 2nd honor until we graduated kindergarten. we were both salutatorian. isn't that cute? we were tied. ha ha ha. in grade one, our teacher was mrs. peralta. there, she was 1st honor and i was only 3rd. it just proves that she's smarter than me. hahaha. karen, do you remember our playground at school? it was very dusty, but so much fun. what about all the big acacia trees at the school and the pansit and spaghetti in platic bags they sold at the canteen? it was so much fun even though life was just like that.

1990. she had to leave to go to the US because her parents were there. i understood because her family had to come first, but i do not think she wanted to leave the Philippines. she grew up with her aunt and uncle in pattao, who became her second parents. she didn't want to leave them and leave her friends. she was very sad when she left. she actually pleaded with her parents in the US if she could stay in the Philippines until she graduated from 6th grade, but they did not allow it. she was very sad and afraid to move to the states. she did not know anyone over there. however, she had to go and she had to get used to her new environment. new family faces, new language, new environment, new climate, new everything. when she left, i was very sad. but she did everything so that the ones she left in the PI were not unhappy. i remember since grade 2, we were already writing each other letters. when i was still in buguey, i would always go to our post office because she always had a letter for me. she was very sweet. karen, did you know that the first dollar i held and was mine was the ones you send me that very first christmas you were there. i was very happy when i received it. lol. when i moved for high school, the writing continued and we had a lot of conversations through letters.1999. she came to visit us in the PI. it was very nice seeing her. we were both growing up. she even came to stay overnight at our place in manila. it was so much fun. i miss it!karen is my true friend. she never forgot to send me xmas cards and bday cards everytime i celebrated my birthday. haha. she would call when she learned my mobile number. now, we chat online when we find the chance. she's inlove now, actually for a long time now. i just don't know when she's going to tie the knot. when are you getting married? my best friend and i are both crazy! hahaha. her birthday is on september 25th which will be her 24th birthday. wohoo!bessy, on your birthday, my only wish from lord is GOOD health for this friend of mine.
when will you be coming home here? 7 years already!come home already karen!i miss you so much.or should i just go there to see you just like you said?it's possible! :-)
