MEET ROSELYN!!!!
Since her father died last year, Roselyn, 12, had to help her mother earn so they could eat everyday. This means working nonstop for 6 hours in the mangroves to gather oysters (talaba) in a remote Aklan town. Without money to spare for a pair of slippers, Roselyn often gets cuts on the soles of her feet standing on beds of oysters barefoot while harvesting them, making it painful for her to walk the 4 km to and from school. As much as she loves going to school everyday, there are times when she is forced to stay at home because of this.
You can help Roselyn and others like her to have a bright future. Send a poor Filipino child to school and help him or her get out of poverty.

Arjim's family is so poor that they often only eat rice sprinkled with a few drops of soy sauce.
Why he needs to work at age nine is really heart-breaking. "Kailangan po naming ibili ng retaso ang kalahati ng aming kita. Kung hindi po, wala kaming kakainin kinabukasan." Arjim said. His entire family weaves nine doormats every day for P10 a piece.
No one, especially children, deserve to live like this - toiling all day and eating only rice and soy sauce. But we know that there are millions of Arjims in our midst. That's why World Vision is looking for 3,000 sponsors for poor children this March 2006.
The good news on Arjim is that his life is beginning to change. He is now one of the thousands of poor Filipino children who are going to school and being cared for through World Vision's Child Sponsorship. Because of Child Sponsorship, Arjim, his family, and their community have a brighter future. Because somebody sponsored a child, we have one less Arjim in our midst.
Yes, it's possible to make a big difference! All it takes are more people who would rather act than just take pity on the poor Filipino children.
